POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY:
30-40 Hours per Week – Hourly Pay
Reports Daily: Store Manager and Area Manager

The assistant store manager helps the store manager and/or area manager with the daily operations of the restaurant.  Assistant store managers help ensure all food safety, product preparation, customer service and cleanliness standards are maintained.   The assistant store manager works with the store manager and is responsible for the daily and weekly controls of the restaurant including cash, inventory and labor hours.  The assistant store manager maintains company standards of restaurant safety and security.  Motivates and leads by example, the store manager executes all of the tasks that of a sandwich artist with excellence.  Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.  There may not be an assistant store manager position available for every location.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.  Maintain and enhance the company’s image when interacting with guests, associates and vendors.
Must not have restricted availability; willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and at neighboring locations. 
Helps out on coverage for store shifts in case of emergency or call-outs.
Observe all personnel at the beginning and throughout their shift for compliance with appearance and uniform policies, customer service expectations, quality control and company standards.
Reports to the store manager and/or area manager regularly on staff performance.
Coordinates and supervises staff so that the standards of customer service, cleanliness, food preparation, food safety and operational standards are maintained as outlined in the operations manual.
Collects and accounts for all money on a daily basis.  Coordinates bank deposits daily, based on the banks’ schedule.  
Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the restaurant Red Book and management Red Book on a daily basis.
May conduct and review inventory practices and store paperwork for completeness and accuracy.  
Conducts some or all store food orders accurately and completely based on company goals and area manager’s direction.
Assists in the store transfer of food.
Helps with the training program for newer employees.
Directs, coordinates and participates in all tasks and responsibilities of sandwich artist as outlined in the sandwich artist job description.  


PREREQUISITIES:
Education: High school graduate or better
Experience: Experience in restaurant operations, preferably with supervisory experience.
Travel: Reliable transportation to the restaurant is a must.
Other: Requires excellent communication skills, ability to deal with all levels of employees.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the fast paced restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
Compensation:  Starting at $9/hour
Vacation:  After one year with the company, assistant store managers receive one week (40 hours) paid vacation.
Health Insurance: After twelve (12) months, assistant store managers are eligible to enroll for health coverage for the next enrollment period.   The company pays 50% coverage for individuals.  Family coverage is available at the expense of the employee.
